Day 1
Meet and greet at the Split airport. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in the hotel in Split.
Day 2 SPLIT – TROGIR – SPLIT
After breakfast walking tour of historical center and Diocletian’s palace ( UNESCO World heritage since 1979), built between the late 3rd and early 4th centuries. Inside the palace, you will learn about the beliefs, lifestyle and culture of that period of the Roman Empire. During the tour we stop by to see Cathedral of St Duje, the former Diocletian’s Mausoleum and the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world that remains in use in its original structure, The Golden Gate main enternce to the Palace, among the best preserved examples of its kind and the big statue of Grgur Ninski, work of Ivan Mestrovic, the greatest and wide world famous Croatian sculptor. Gurgur Ninski ( Gregory of Nin ) was a medieval Croatian bishop who strongly opposed the Pope and introduced the Croatian language in the religious services in 926. In the afternoon departure to Trogir – the town museum (UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979). Its culture was created under the ninfluence of the ancient Greeks, and the Romans and Venetians. Trogir is the best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic, but in all of Central Europe. Trogir’s medieval core, surrounded by walls, comprises a preserved castle and tower and a series of dwellings and palaces from the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods. Trogir’s grandest building is the church of St. Lawrence, whose main west portal is a masterpiece by Radovan, and the most significant work of the Romanesque-Gothic style in Croatia. Return to Split. Overnight stay.
Day 3 SPLIT – NP KRKA – ŠIBENIK – PRIMOŠTEN – SPLIT
After breakfast departure to National Park Krka, one of the most beautiful nature spots in Croatia. Explore the Park by visiting ethno museum, small stone houses and an old watermill or the first hydroelectric power station in Europe. Following the wooden path you will come to Skradinski buk, one of the most attractive parts of the park. Skradinski buk waterfalls are collection of 17 waterfalls that range in height by over 45 meters. Boat excursion to Skradin, small town with narrow paved streets, passages, valutas and stairs. You will visit local winery and taste wine. Afterwards, departure for Šibenik for a visit to the famous Cathedral of St James ( UNESCO World heritage list). It was built in three phases, by three architects, between 1431 and 1535. Its style started out as Venetian Gothic, but was turned to Renaissance by the two latter architects (Georgius Mathei Dalmaticus and Niccolá di Giovanni Fiorentino). After a visit departure to Split with en-route stop in Primošten in one of the most attractive places on the Adriatic coast. The town is famous dor its stone hosues and locally produced olive and wine. Return to Split. Overnight stay.
Day 4 SPLIT – AIRPORT
After breakfast departure transfer to the airport.
